| INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEMAGOLD MARIGOLD |
|
Seed may be sown where plants are to grow outdoors when weather is warm and settled, covering about four times their thickness. Firm the soil and keep moist, but not overly wet. Do not allow to dry out. Thin to stand about 7 inches apart. For earliest flowering, start seed indoors in flats in a warm location, but out of direct sunlight 2-3 weeks before last frost. For best germination, use Park's Grow Mix and give gentle bottom heat. Keep constantly moist, after germination, provide plenty of light (sunny window). As soon as four leaves develop, thin or transplant. The use of Jiffy Pots at this stage is best. When the weather is warm and settled, set plants outdoors to harden them off for a few days then plant in the garden, pot and all. 1. If you have a problem with nematodes in your soil, plant nematode resistant varieties for crops. 2. Remove crop residue in the fall and till soil to limit nematode over wintering. Repeated tilling, 2-4 times in winter fallow helps. 3. Select a block of your garden for planting solidly in Park's Nemagold Marigold. One plant every 7 inches. One sixteenth ounce contains enough seed for 100 square feet. Cultivate all weeds from among Marigolds until Nemagold has crowded them out. |
